UPDATE 7/21/2014 4:35 PM
A small business owner under criminal investigation by Marietta Police is speaking up and defending himself.
Wayne's Computer World on Front Street is accused of scamming customers out of thousands of dollars.
Police raided the store Friday.
Investigators say they've received a number of calls from people saying they paid money for products but they never got them.
Owner Wayne Hunter says that's true, but he says that's because those electronics were stolen during a break-in at the store last month.
"We're by no way, shape or form out to hurt a customer or rip anybody off. This has been blown way out of proportion and we will be back at work and taking care of our customers. I was in the process of that when all this happened," he says.
Authorities say they're looking at computers, hard drives, and cellphones that they took from the store Friday.
They're also speaking with people they say may have been victims.
No arrests have been made.
Marietta Police are looking into accusations that Wayne's Computer World on Front St. scammed customers out of thousands of dollars.
Investigators say they're looking at computers, hard drives and cell phones that they took from the store around 2 p.m. Friday.
Police say they also received a warrant to search owner Wayne Hunter's home in Oak Grove.
"This is a result of complaints made that people paid for electronic equipment upfront and have not received what they've paid for. They've followed up on the same excuse after excuse as to why they don't have their electronic equipment and to date have not received their electronic equipment," said Ofc. A.J. Linscott.
No arrests have been made but police did question Hunter.
