ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease claims the lives of many every year, but Parkersburg residents have come together to raise money to benefit the cause.
The annual Dave Couch Golf Tournament, held this year at the Parkersburg Country Club featured a luncheon, trophy awards presentation, and plenty of golfing.
Katrina Sees husband was diagnosed with ALS two years ago, and knows the importance of funding for the research of cures and information on the disease. "They have come together to give me resources that I didn't know about to help our fight with this battle. I've also learned about a lot of different things in the community that is out there for people that I was not aware of."
the sold out event raised thirty-six-thousand dollars raised this year that will go directly to benefit ALS research funds which helps benefit studies to find a cure for the disease.
