De-Stress With Dogs During Finals

By  |

It's the week before finals for college students around the valley, and the pressure of getting good grades may cause many to get stressed.

Marietta College is hoping students can have a stress free study week and they're using mans best friend to help out.

Students walking to and from classes have the chance to stop by and take some time out of studying to bond with some loving dogs.

"This is really a win-win situation. We have the event the week before finals to get the students to calm down and be ready to go into the last week of the semester with finals week and be prepared to do well in their exams. We also partner with the humane society and bring in animals who need homes. Our unofficial slogan for the event is 'the dogs need the love and you need the break' ," says the Director of Marietta College Academic Resource Center, Amanda Haney-Cech.

Students also receive a tips sheet to help them prepare and get ready for finals. Some of the dogs featured at the event are up for adoption. For more information, contact the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.
