UPDATE 6:46 5-24-13

The Oklahoma Disaster Relief is off to a great start as donations are pouring in at various locations throughout the valley.

So far, the Burger King on Division Street in Parkersburg, Vienna Baptist Church has received larger donations.

The Gallery Owner, Glenn Newman, says they too got a tremendous response from people donating items at his store.

The disaster relief are always looking for more items such as clothes, non-perishable foods and toys for the kids.

"We're all here for a short period of time and being able to help someone in Oklahoma or anywhere else, is very important for people of any faith or any organization," says Newman.

Saturday will be your last chance to give back to the Oklahoma tornado victims.

Again, the donation drop off locations are in Marietta at Kroger and The Gallery, Vienna Baptist Church and Burger King on Division Street in Parkersburg.

The locations will be collecting items Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

UPDATE: 11:59 5-23-13

Two local pastors are working to make a difference for the victims of the Oklahoma tornado and they need your help.

Rodney Lord of Valley Harvest Church and Steve Thibault from Evergreen Bible Church are currently collecting donations for the victims.

They're accepting various items not just money at several locations around the valley.

The pastors are asking for clothing, non-perishable foods, toys and other similar items.

It's an opportunity for everyone to lend a helping hand.

"Many times when there's a tragedy, especially one that's so far away, you can't help practically sometimes and send money but we felt like an initiative like this would be something we could all get together on board with and help supply," says Pastor Lord.

People can donate their items at the following locations:

Marietta Kroger
Vienna Baptist Church
Burger King on Division Street in Parkersburg
The Gallery on Front Street in Marietta.

You can drop off the goods Friday from 10 am to 2 pm then again from 5 to 8 in the evening and Saturday from 10 a-m to 2p-m.

You can also take your donated items to 25 other churches throughout the valley.

For a complete of those churches or for more information on making donations, visit www.movfriends.com.
