Early voting and registration are under way, for the one issue on Washington County's May seventh ballot...and that's an issue on the ballot only in one northern township.
It's a replacement and increase to 19 mills, of a 12-mill levy for Caldwell Exempted Village School District in Noble County.
A small portion of that district is located in Washington County's Aurelius Township.
"This is considered a special election for the Caldwell Exempted School District," says Board of Elections Director Tara Hupp, "and because Washington County overlaps into Noble County, and Noble County also has it on the ballot, we are also required to have it, and open our precinct for that election."
Hupp says the township has approximately 275 registered voters.
The registration deadline for next month's election is Monday, April eighth.
