Officials blame old tires in a crash near Athens Tuesday that sent eight people to the hospital.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Georgia family, including four adults and four kids, were injured when their van crashed on U.S. 33, just outside of Athens.
The patrol says three children were thrown from the van because their seat belts weren't fastened securely.
Two of the children were seriously injured and flown to a Columbus hospital.
The patrol says an old tire blew up, sending the van into a guardrail.
