The weather outside has been less than seasonable over the past few weeks and some area farmers are feeling the effects.

Over at Witten Farms recent rain has muddied up fields and forced field work to be delayed.

However, farmers say even with the rain, community support has been strong enough to keep the season rolling along.

"The public been very understanding," says grower, Tom Witten. "Everyone would have liked to have a few more strawberries, I think. But, the sweet corn that is coming on now and they seem to be tieing right into it."

Witten says strawberry season was cut short by about 5 days this year due to the unseasonable weather.
