Even though Thanksgiving's a month away, it's never too late to make a difference for hungry families.
Wal-Mart put on the "Fighting for Hunger" program Sunday at both the southside and Vienna locations. They accepted donations of food which will go to the Old Man River local mission.
Wal-Mart employee Linda Lambert mentions the true meaning of working together as a team.
"It means that together with the community and with the customers that come in the store and everything that together as a team, we could help accomplish this goal that we have to help Old Man River."
According to Wal-Mart.com, Fighting for Hunger provided more than 122 million dollars in grants. They also gave nearly 600 million pounds of food to communities.
