Coming back from lunch break three construction workers find a house on fire.
Just before 1:00 Wednesday Parkersburg's fire department arrived on scene.
Flames could be seen coming from the front of 1411 20th Street.
No one was home at the time.
D.J. Schilling, one of the men who noticed the fire, said neighbors called 911.
"And about the time we see it turn black and said well that's smoke, the three of us took off running and made sure nobody was in the house and at that time the fire started breaking windows and started making sure neighbors were out of their house because it was starting to spread," he says.
A cause is still under investigation.
There's an estimated $50,000 worth of damage to the home.
