UPDATE: Home Declared a Total Loss Following Fire

Firefighters say electrical problems may be to blame for a Thursday morning house fire on Joe Skinner Road.

It happened around 7 a.m.

The victim was released from Camden Clark Medical Center after receiving treatment for second degree burns on his hands and forearm.

The house is a total loss.

A Belpre home fully engulfed, as a man wakes up realizing he is trapped inside.

With the help of neighbors he makes it out.

The Belpre Fire Departments responded to the house on Joe Skinner Road just after 7:00 Thursday morning.

The house was fully engulfed.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says one man was in the home, waking up to realize he was trapped in the upstairs bedroom.

He climbed onto the roof for safety.

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for burns on his hands and arms.

Belpre, Dunham, and Little Hocking Fire Departments all responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation..

Washington County Sherriff Larry Mincks says a home at 795 Joe Skinner Road is fully engulfed.

He says one man was inside but was able to get out.

Belpre Dispatchers say there is a fire on Joe Skinner Rd. Few details are available at the time.

Reports of electric lines are down.
