Flood Warning near Marietta

Interview at Five - Ed Hupp - Localized Flooding

Localized Flooding Throughout Valley

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a FLOOD WARNING for portions of the Mid Ohio Valley.

* FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS IN NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST OHIO INCLUDING THE CITY OF MARIETTA.

* UNTIL 630 PM EST THURSDAY

* AT 817 AM EST RAINS FROM YESTERDAY WILL CONTINUE TO RUNOFF INTO DUCK CREEK. DUCK CREEK IS STILL RISING SLOWLY AND WILL CREST LATE MORNING AT WHIPPLE.

FLOOD WATERS ARE MOVING DOWN DUCK CREEK FROM WHIPPLE TO MARIETTA. THE FLOOD CREST IS EXPECTED TO REACH WHIPPLE BY LATE THIS MORNING AND ARRIVE IN MARIETTA THIS AFTERNOON.

A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported. Take necessary precautions immediately.

Do NOT drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may too high to allow your cross to pass safely.

If it safe to do so, you can report high water and/or send pictures to news@thenewscenter.tv or via twitter @johnfortney or @jkwtap

It is also important to report high water to the National Weather Service and you can contact them by calling toll free 800-401-9535.

Again only report information when you can do so without endangering yourself or others.

TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!!!
