Flood Warning for Washington County

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a FLOOD WARNING for WASHINGTON COUNTY.

Warning in effect until 845 PM EDT THURSDAY.

Duck Creek continues to be in flood stage due to the heavy rainfall from this week. Water levels should level off and begin to recede today but levels will remain at or above flood stage through this evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER COVERED BRIDGES, DIPS, OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS. NEVER TRY TO
CROSS A FLOWING STREAM, EVEN A SMALL ONE, ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
