Parkersburg Plans to Appeal Ruling to Dismiss Police Officer

The city of Parkersburg plans to appeal the latest ruling on a police officer fired more than two years ago.
The Civil Service Commission repeated, with some clarification, its 2010 ruling that officer Floyd Holliday should not have been dismissed by the city.
City Attorney Joe Santer tells the News Center the city's appeal should be filed within the next two weeks.
Holliday's attorney could then file a response to that appeal.
Holliday is accused of neglecting to record evidence and instead keeping it for himself.
He's also accused of downloading porn to another officer's laptop.
He remains on paid leave from the police force.
Santer believes the case will eventually be decided by the West Virginia Supreme Court.

Earlier this year, his attorney requested Holliday receive back pay for six months in 2010.
Before taking himself off the case, Judge J.D. Beane granted that motion, but the city is appealing.
