A PHS graduate and star football player is in trouble, accused of assault.

Marietta Police Sergeant Rod Hupp says it all happened early Sunday morning outside the Locker Room in Marietta.

According to witnesses, after exchanging words, PHS graduate Allan Wasonga walked up to a man outside the bar and punched him.

Witness statements also linked 22-year old Brandon Wilson of Parkersburg to a related assault that night.

Sergeant Hupp says when officers arrived on scene, Wasonga ran and got into a car.

They were finally able to catch up with him and arrested Wasonga for assault and obstruction of official business.

Officers also arrested Wilson for assault.

Wasonga played football at PHS and was a walk-on at Marshall University.

According to the school's Sports Information Director, Wasonga left the football program about a month ago.

Both men are free on bond.
