Foster Children Donation Drive Ends Friday

By  |

A lot of holiday donation programs are wrapping up this week, and that includes the Parkersburg Police Department's drive for foster children.

In partnership with the foster care agency Try-Again Homes, the police department is accepting donations through Friday, December 21, at the police substation located at Parkersburg City Park.

But it isn't just toy donations that are being sought.

"Anything you would imagine a child from birth to 18 years of age they would need, with clothes being high on that list," says Sgt. Greg Collins. "Of course, toys are the gifts they would like to receive. We're also trying to help the parents who have opened their homes up to these kids."

Sgt. Collins says that, in spite of a late start, last year's inaugural drive was a success, and they've seen more of that this year.

55 area foster children are being helped out by your generosity.
