Fred Vlchek knows all too well what it's like to live a life fighting cancer.
But he says he's one of the lucky ones.
As a cancer patient he witnessed the devastation medical costs can bring to families. As a cancer survivor he set out to help.
He founded Fred's Difference, a non-profit organization that helps pay for cancer treatment.
He started biking cross country to raise money and awareness, kicking off in Oceanside, California he made his way to Parkersburg, West Virginia.
"One of the more challenging things that I had to see was when I was going through chemotherapy was specifically men make a determination on whether they were going to get treatment for their cancer or going to put food on the table for their family," says President of Fred's Difference, Fred Vlchek.
Fred only has about five days left in his cross country journey. His trip ends in Annapolis, Maryland.
