Flu season is just around the corner.
Experts are advising every over six month get the vaccine.
And Saturday, veterans in Marietta were vaccinated for free.
Mayor Joe Matthews coordinated with the Chillicothe V.A. Mobile Unit to provide the shots.
The mobile unit also offers information on diabetes and checks for the disease.
It's an effort to provide an important service to veteran's before the flu season hits.
"It's a big thing to say thank you. I'm a veteran myself so I know what it's like to come out and say thank you and free flu shots for veterans is a big thing now. There's four different strands," says Chillicothe V.A. Outreach Coordinator, Matt Cox.
The board of health also administered shots to non-veterans.
