The pool of cold clear air will settle in over the MOV tonight, dropping temperature below freezing for the region.
This will end the growing season, and kill annual plants left out in the freezing temperatures for several hours Thursday morning.
Frost and patchy dense fog are also possible in the valley.
The time period to protect delicate potted plants is 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. early Thursday morning.
