Harmar Elementary students celebrate veterans with patriotic songs, special decorations and a presentation of military flags.
The school's annual Veteran's Day Assembly was held Friday morning.
As part of the program veteran family members of the students were recognized, balloons were released and a bell was rung 11 times at 11:00.
Marietta Mayor Joe Matthews was among the veterans on hand for the assembly.
Organizers describe it as a very special event that has a big impact on both the students and veterans.
"One of my greatest joys is after it's over when all of our guests, all of our veterans come up and tell us how they've been moved by it and how much it means to them that we take the time and do something like this to observe Veterans Day," says music teacher Michael Tobar.
Organizers say the program has been held at least 10 years.
