UPDATE: Man Involved in Fatal Crash Sentenced

A man who previously pleaded guilty was sentenced on Monday.

According to Judge Waters Jamie Thompson will serve 2 to ten years for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, causing death.

He was also sentenced to 180 days for possession of a controlled substance.

So far he has a credit of 201 days served.

He must also make restitution to three victims, including $1,000 to Robin Starcher, $350 to Karri Starcher and $600 to Kimberly Caplinger.

Deputies say 21 year old Gregory Starcher died from his injuries in the February crash in Rockport.

They say Jamie Thompson drove left of center, hitting Starcher head on.

A fatal accident in Rockport early last month will be going to a grand jury.

Wood County Chief Deputy Shawn Graham confirms to WTAP they will be sending this case to a grand jury. He says they'll present the information from the fatal crash and the jury will determine if charges should be filed.

The accident early February on Route 21 in Rockport caused one car to crash in a house.

Deputies say 21 year old Gregory Starcher died from his injuries in the crash. They say Jamie Thompson drove left of center, hitting Starcher head on.

No word on exactly when this case will be presented.

A Rockport man is killed after being hit by another car Friday evening.

Wood County Sheriff's Deputies say 21 year old Gregory Starcher died from his injuries in the crash.

It happened Friday evening on Route 21 in Rockport.

Deputies say Jamie Thompson was driving in the north bound lane when he went left of center. He hit Starcher head on, causing Starchers car to hit a house. Starcher was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Thompson was taken to the hospital for his injuries.His condition isn't known at this time.

Deputies say both drivers were wearing seat belts and there were no passengers in either car.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected, but deputies say charges are pending.

A head on collision involving two trucks took place Friday afternoon on Route 21 near Rockport.

One of the trucks ran into a house near by leaving a hole.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department and Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department were on hand assisting the crash.

No word on the condition of the drivers.

The collision is still under investigation.
