That's what a local insurance executive says is the best way employers can deal with the Affordable Care Act.
Friday morning Mark Schwendeman talked at a Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce seminar, warning about "sticker shock" for health care premiums - especially for businesses offering employees their own plans.
And some, he says, have already taken action.
"A strategy to remain competitive within their industry is to limit the number of hours other than management," he says. "So the overall long-term concern is that we're going to see middle-income families, husband and wife, both working two, 25-hour a week jobs, not having any benefits offered to them, by any of the four employers."
Schwendeman adds significant taxes or penalties related to the health care law might affect employers' ability to offer their own plans to their workers.
