Helping Area Kids And Vets During The Holidays

By  |

Another great local event Sunday afternoon, this one helping children have a merry Christmas, and even more importantly, supporting needy veterans.

Members of the Wood County Marine Corps League Detachment 1087 were at the Sam's Club in Vienna for their annual "Toys For The Needy" toy drive.

The veterans took donations of food, toys, and money.

The event helps benefit children and veterans of Wood and Washington Counties.

"It's really a rewarding event that we do every year to take care of especially the veterans, if we have any veterans that they're in trouble to help them and it's a big event for us," says Wood County Marine Corps League Detachment 1087 Liaison Officer, Mike McLein.

The toy drive continues through the holiday season at other locations.

If you'd like to make a donation, stop-in at Fruth Pharmacy in Mineral Wells, the Pizza Place in Parkersburg, and Bar-B-Cutie in Marietta.
