High-Speed Chase Leads to Arrest for Meth Lab

WTAP's sister station WSAZ reports that the chase started on Main Street in Pomeroy, OH yesterday around 5 p.m.

Reaching speeds of more than 90 miles per hour, the chase ended in Mason County when the driver of the stolen vehicle crashed into a Meigs County Sheriff's cruiser at the intersection of Lieving Road and Vienna Road.

No one was injured in the crash. Christopher Scott Porter was arrested yesterday around 6 p.m.

Deputies say that is when they found the meth lab inside the van.

The van was reported stolen in Mason County on Thursday night.

Porter is charged with operating a clandestine lab and possession of a stolen vehicle. More charges are pending.

Porter is being processed at the Mason County Sheriff's Department and then will be taken to the Western Regional Jail.
