Hit And Run Follows Home Invasion

Two Belpre residents were sent to the hospital late last night after being struck by a car.

Police say the car was driven by two men who may have committed a home invasion.

It happened at about 12:30 last night.

According to Belpre Police Sgt. Joe Fields, the department is investigating a home invasion at 603 Florence Street.

Witnesses say two men invaded the residence.

Fields says a woman who lives there was home at the time.

The men eventually fled in their car.

The woman's boyfriend - Billy Davis - chased after the car on foot.

Chad Bledsoe, who lives across the street from the home, also chased the car on foot.

Fields says both men were struck by the car in an alley behind the home, and they were taken to the hospital.

He says shortly after the incident a Washington County Sheriff's Deputy pulled over a car heading towards Marietta on Route 7 - matching the description of the one driven by the two men.

He says the two men in that car are being interviewed by police, but no arrests have been made

Bledsoe remains in the emergency room this morning.

Davis has been discharged.
