Police say he beat up a homeless man and left him for dead.

Wednesday morning, Parkersburg Police say a passerby found David Sayers seriously injured near the train tracks close to Camden Street.

When officers arrived, they found Sayers covered in blood, with blood coming from his nose, mouth and ears.

Officers arrested Eric McCumbers.

Police say he and Sayers got into a fight and McCumbers hit him multiple times in the head, fracturing his jaw and causing a suspected brain bleed.

Sayers was flown to a Morgantown hospital.

McCumbers faces a malicious wounding charge and his bond is set at $10,000.
