She's a cornerstone of her community, known for always helping others.
But Sunday, she was the one getting help from a thankful small town.
Kathy Satterfield Tustin wears many hats as a boy scouts leader, school volunteer and an insurance agent.
In June, Tustin was hospitalized for nearly 40 days after a serious motorcycle accident.
The family is overwhelmed with medical bills and friends of Kathy are stepping up to help out.
Newport Elementary School hosted a spaghetti dinner in her honor.
"This is unbelievable. We got so many people coming here that I care about that I've known over the years, it's just awesome, they get to visit each other, I get to say hello. I hate missing any of them but there's just so many people, I love it," says Tustin.
All proceeds will help Tustin and her family pay for medical expenses.
