Honoring Five Veterans With The French Legion Award

By  |

It was a day to honor some inspiring veterans for their services in France.

Thomas Coakley nominated Holly Eagle, Walter Criss, Bonzel and Denver Walbrown and Denver Gandee for the French Legion Award.

It's the highest award anyone can get in France with five degrees.

The three veterans in attendance, Eagle, Gandee and Criss all received the Cheveliar Knights, Commander, Officer, Grand Officer and Grand Cross Awards.

"It's the greatest honor I ever got. I got about 16 medals altogether, two from France, and the rest of them from the United States Army. And this is the best honor I ever got," says Eagle.

After the ceremony, people came to shake hands and congratulate the veterans for their outstanding service to our country.
