Several organizations are coming together to honor local members of the military and their families Saturday evening with a fairy tale ball.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Actor's Guild, and the Parkersburg Art Center are throwing the fairy tale ball at the Art Center. There will be activities for both kids and adults.

"We've had so many of our neighbors gone for a year. Their families have sacrificed and they have sacrified. This is a chance for everybody to say thank you to those that have sacrificed and for those that have sacrificed to actually enjoy themselves for an evening and have a great time," said Sharon Kesselring, financial development director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The event starts Saturday at 7 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m.

Admission is free for members of the 1092nd Engineer Battalion and their families as well as familes of the 104th Aviation Unit.

For the public, it costs $20 for a single person, $30 a couple and $50 a family.
