One Parkersburg church honors black history month with a musical Sunday.
Zion Baptist Church held the musical, "Be Still And Know That He Is God".
It's about the struggles African American women faced throughout their history in America.
Slavery, the civil rights movement and single motherhood were among the scenes.
The women of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Charleston produces the musical.
This performance an inspiration for everyone.
"When you look at African American history, there was a great reliance on God, there was a great reliance on prayer and much of success was on that. It was not so much depending on their own strength, it was them depending on the power of God," says Reverend John Sylvia of St. Paul A.M.E. Church.
Members of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church say they've performed this musical at several churches throughout the state during this black history month.
