A home in Jackson County caught fire Saturday morning and several rooms inside were destroyed.
Ripley Volunteer Firefighter Kyle Hinzman said the fire at the home on
State Route 21 between Ripley and Silverton appears to be accidental.
It reportedly started around 11 a.m. Sunday in the back bedroom but the cause of the fire is unknown.
Hinzman said the garage and two rooms were able to be saved but the bedrooms and living room were destroyed.
He said the metal roof made it a little bit difficult for firefighters to get under control.
According to Hinzman, the family was home at the time but made it out safely.
That section of State Route 21 was closed for a couple of hours for firefighters to respond.
