Former Sheriff Ken Merritt comes out on top with a 478 vote win.
After loosing to Sheriff Sandy four years ago, Ken Merritt is back in office as Wood County Sheriff in a very tight race 51% to 49%.
"I thought we'd win. I had to feel that way with all the fine people that was working for me. I've served three terms and I was real active and was president of the West Virginia Sheriff's Association three years. Law enforcement is something that I love. In the last three or four years I haven't been really involved. I'll take it slow and there's some thing's i'll want to change, and others i'll accept and they'll be good," Merritt says.
