Many people waited until the last minute to shop, or had to pick up a gift Tuesday.
But overall, even though it was busy, the small businesses in downtown Marietta had a relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere that the customers and employees really enjoyed.
Marietta Main Street Director Jean G. Farmer was out and about handing out candy canes, thanking everyone for shopping local.
She says many stores downtown are having a record year and they are very happy with the sales.
Store owners say they saw more men running in Tuesday, grabbing that last minute gift.
American Flags and Poles gave out eggnog to their customers.
