Lighting the flame of hope and carrying it through Marietta Wednesday.

The rain didn't stop their spirit.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics was held Wednesday morning through Marietta's downtown, all to raise awareness for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Around 25 athletes from WASCO joined in on the fun with the local law enforcement.

Each law enforcement officer raised money before Wednesday to run with the Special Olympians.

The goal statewide is to raise $500,000 for the Special Olympics.

All this leading up to the opening ceremonies Friday in Columbus.
