Lighting struck during Thursday's storms causing a fire for a family to deal with.
The Parkersburg Fire Department responded to 2306 Liberty Street at around six Thursday evening.
Fire Captain James Tracewell says firefighters discovered the backyard shed completely engulfed in flames when they arrived.
No one was injured but the shed is considered a total loss.
"When I came out here the smoke was rolling off, so I ran and checked the building, it looked like a little piece in the back got hit but I didn't see a fire. So when I opened the doors, more smoke start to pull out and then the fire started to engulfing and it just started burning," says David Parsons.
Even though it was a suspected lightning strike, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
