Local Runners Safe After Boston Explosions

By  |

Several local runners were running in the Boston Marathon on Monday when two explosions left hundreds injured and three dead.

Chip Allman, President of the River City Runners Club says all six members are accounted for.

Three people from Athens, two from Marietta, and one from Vienna all ran in the marathon Monday.

Allman says the members were not near the finish line during the explosions. He says some already crossed the line and others didn't get a chance to finish the race.

WTAP is working to get in contact with another runner from Ripley.
