After weeks of negotiations, the workers at Parkersburg Bedding have rejected the contract before them.

The WorkersUnited/SEIU Local 1526 turned down the proposed agreement.

It was the first offer that the union took back to its membership for a vote.

The union is not releasing another other details as to why the contract was voted down.

The union's president says the company and the workers will now go back to the drawing table to reach an agreement that benefits both parties.

Production at the plant continues under the agreement currently in place.
