Man Escaped Home Confinement; Arrested at Va. Train Station

A man escaped home confinement here in Wood County and was apprehended hundreds of miles away.

According to Wood County Sheriff Jeff Sandy, 50-year-old Michael Jewell didn't return to the Oxford Half Way House in Parkersburg Saturday night.

The sheriff says home confinement officers found Jewell had been traveling on via bus.

Jewell was arrested by Amtrak police in Staunton Virginia Sunday morning.

Officers found out Jewell was headed to Miami,Florida.

He will be extradited back to Wood County.
