March of Dimes is kicking off the annual giving campaign for its walk.
Last year's sponsors came out to a luncheon today in Williamstown to hear about this year's March for Babies.
The event raises money to fight birth defects and prevent premature births.
About one in eight babies is born prematurely.
"We want those families that have been touched by the march of dimes to come out and join us in celebration of the life of their children and come out and join us in a cause to keep that from happening to other families," said Sandy Vredenburgh, March Of Dimes Division Director.
She said the monetary goal for this year's walk is fifty thousand dollars.
The three mile walk will start in Williamstown on June 4.
