Marietta College is looking for a new campus chief of police.

Police Department Chief Tom Saccenti is resigning to take the same position at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.

Saccenti's final day at Marietta is July 21, and he is scheduled to begin his new duties on July 22.

He has been Marietta's police chief since August, 2010, when he moved there from a college in Indiana.

The college's vice-president for student life says Sgt. Jim Weaver will serve as interim police chief.
