A Marietta Police Officer faces a disorderly conduct charge after confronting his estranged wife at an eye doctor's appointment while on duty.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says on June 2, officer Brandon Chapman came into Heather Chapman's exam room and started an argument.
The sheriff's office says he admitted to doing so and also tried to grab her cell phone from her pocket.
Chapman stated he eventually let go, and exchanged words, including telling her he wished she would die.
Mrs. Chapman says she doesn't feel he was intentionally trying to hurt her, but that she was afraid for her safety.
The Marietta Police Department placed Chapman on paid administrative leave.
