Passing the torch at Worthington Elementary Friday.
The 200 students held a "mini" Relay For Life.
Kindergarten through 5th graders have raised money throughout the school year.
Friday they kicked off the relay with a concert on campus and several laps around the school.
Teachers say it's a great experience for both kids and faculty.
"It's something for kids to get involved in the community and to help others, which is really important. They've been really motivated this year to meet our goal," says teacher Leslie McCain.
The mini-relay raised about $2,000.
The school held several fundraisers throughout the year to reach this amount.
All the money will go the American Cancer Society.
