Federal authorities say a nationwide manhunt is on for an Ohio man facing drug, racketeering and money laundering charges in West Virginia.
U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld says 43-year-old David L. Kidd II of Martins Ferry was on court-ordered home confinement while awaiting trial. He says Kidd was gone when a probation officer checked on him Friday.
Kidd is charged with bringing hundreds of thousands of pills from Florida and South Carolina into the Ohio Valley for illegal redistribution.
Ihlenfeld says Kidd is considered dangerous. He's described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 220 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last known to be driving a black 1996 Ford Explorer with Ohio plates.
Authorities say anyone with information about Kidd's whereabouts
should call 304-218-9286 or 304-234-6092.
