The former Holiday Inn on Holiday Hills Drive sits empty, but officials in West Virginia are planning to use it as a new jail and treatment facility for inmates.
The West Virginia Division of Corrections announced Thursday that a brand new correctional center will be in the old hotels place.
The building will house 130 male minimum security inmates.
Most of those men will be eligible to work in the community and others will be in residential substance abuse treatment units.
The Parkersburg Correctional Center will also house the city parole offices.
