They've been around for almost a century in the same location.
Now the Elks Lodge of Parkersburg is finally getting a new home.
Members cut the ribbon Saturday night on the Elks' new location on Green Street.
They say having a little extra space downtown will help the group take care of hundreds of local veterans.
"Our biggest thing is to recognize all veterans at all times. Anywhere, anytime, they can come here and be taken care of. If they're destitute or in need we'll help them out. Whatever they need we'll work to see that it happens," says James Perkins, Sr., Elks Lodge secretary.
Along with serving those who have served our country, the Elks also run local scholarship programs.
The old lodge on Market Street was the one and only for the Parkersburg Elks.
That building opened in 1919.
