Winter is on the way and Ohio's road warriors are ready.
Friday ODOT tested its snow equipment.
It's something the District 10 garage does in late October or early November.
And that includes improving visibility so drivers can see the vehicles.
Its maintenence people completed a 150-point inspection to repair snow removal and treatment equipment.
"The majority of them are ready to go. We always have a few tweaks we need to do to get them prepared for winter," says District 10 spokesman David Rose. "But that's why we do this before the first snowflake hits before winter; that's why we're here, making sure they're prepared."
Last year ODOT became the first state department of transportation to win the excellence in snow and ice control award from the American Public Works Association.
