An Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher said by 10:45 p.m. Saturday officers made three OVI arrests during a checkpoint that started at 8 p.m.on State Route 7 south of County Road 9.
The checkpoint was scheduled to end at 11 p.m.
More officers will be out in Washington County Saturday night to try to deter and pull over drunk drivers.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Marietta Police Department are holding an OVI checkpoint from 8 p.m.- 11 p.m. Saturday on State Route 7 south of County Road 9. This is close to milepost 26.
Extra patrols will be out until 3 a.m.
Federal grants are funding the checkpoint.
