Students at Ohio Valley University have a new place to kick back and enjoy each others company.
Saturday evening, OVU held a ribbon cutting for their newly renovated Stanley Student Union complete with fireplace, air hockey tables and video games.
Director of Alumni Relations, Jack Thorn, says students were the driving force behind the renovation... with the help of hundreds of volunteers.
"The students are the ones who came up with the idea of renovating it. And obviously it came about due to a need for just mingling," Thorn says. "If you have the opportunity to look through there, or when folks have the opportunity to come through here, you can see how beautiful it is to have a recreational facility for our students."
The ribbon cutting also started a new tradition at the university called "Points of Light," a ceremony that centers around light, prayer and thanksgiving.
