Ohio Valley University Students Help in Community

Lending a helping hand around the community of Vienna.

Ohio Valley University's freshman class was out and about Monday picking up trash in Jackson Park and painting the bleachers at the junior high.

School officials say it's all part of their orientation program and commitment to service

"And I just think this is wonderful, these kids are here to work and there is so much they can do because as you know with the wind storms we've had and damage we've had, we have trees down and garbage and wind blowing, it's been a tough year as far as for Norm Harris and the parks department," says Linda Kern, with the City of Vienna.

Also, students painted and cleaned the softball fields, worked with Habitat for Humanity and Latrobe Street Mission Monday.

Students say it was a great way to give back, get to know their new classmates and the community.
