UPDATE: Man Released From Custody Following Shooting

A man arrested following a shooting in Meigs County is released.

Now the case goes to a grand jury.

The Meigs County Sheriff's Office says Robert Burns is no longer in custody.

He was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he got into a fight with his step-son, William Cleveland.

Cleveland was shot in his abdomen.

He's listed in stable condition at St. Mary's Medical Center.

The sheriff's office says no charges have been filed and the investigation continues.

Witnesses say a domestic dispute turned into a shooting, between two Meigs County men.

According to Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood, deputies received the call around 9:30 a.m, about a shooting on Briar Ridge Road in Langsville, OH.

49-year-old William Cleveland was taken by helicopter to St. Mary's Hospital where he was sent into surgery.

Deputies recovered a small caliber pistol and other evidence.

Cleveland's step-father, 69-year-old Russell Burns, was arrested.

The Meigs County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.

Authorities investigate a shooting in Meigs County.

It happened just before 9:30 Wednesday morning in the Langsville area.

The Meigs County Sheriff's Office says one person was shot.

The victim was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center.

No word on their condition.

Deputies say a suspect is in custody.

No other information is being released at this time.
