PHS Lockdown Lifted

P-H-S went on lock down today because a strange man was walking thru the halls with a backpack.

According to police, the suspect got into the school through the north entrance. At about 1:30 this afternoon, witnesses described a unidentified older African American man walking through the halls.

The school went into lockdown for about five minutes. The man was seen walking through the second floor hallways with a backpack.

Police say they'll review surveillance footage to get a better description of the suspect. If they do identify him police say they'll issue a warrant for his arrest. Nothing seems to be missing or damaged and no one was hurt.

Parkersburg High School is no longer on lockdown after an unidentified older black man was seen walking the halls.

According to police, the suspect got into the school through the north entrance.

He was seen walking the second floor hallways. Nothing looks to be damaged or missing.

It's reported the man was carrying a backpack, but he left the grounds with it.

Police say they will be reviewing surveillance footage to get a better description of the suspect.

They're investigating it as trespassing on school property.

Authorities say Parkersburg High School is on lockdown following a report that an intruder was in the building.

Parkersburg Police Department Sergeant Greg Collins says police are en route to the school.

There are reports that the alleged intruder has now left school grounds.

The intruder was described as a black man wearing a red tank top and possibly carrying a suspicious bag.
